There are bruises on our hearts
from a war we didn’t ask for
ice wall forming between us
breaking a union I thought indestructible
How do we repair this?
When did we lose each other
My heart feels cold
I miss the way things used to be
Before we were broken

But we didn’t ask for this
we were innocent
yet they treated us as weapons against each other

Five fingers
Five toes
divided

How do we come back together?

I know I am running
space and healing
finding our way back to each other
I’m perpetually lost

Our lines might be broken
but still they can intertwine
