100 - An Open Hand

A clenched fist
loosens its grip.

A broken heart plants
seeds in the cracks
and lets the flowers grow.

She thought she had to
fight her way free.
She thought she was
trapped in a world that
would never accept her.
She thought she would
have to push and scream
just to be heard.

Turns out
she just had to speak.
To speak honestly.

And for that,
those who were ready to listen
made sure to hear every word.

Because this is the 100th artwork, I decided to do a direct response to the first artwork. Check out Brass Knuckles: Artwork #1/1000 for comparison.
